X Japan, the rock band that reunited in 2007 after a decade apart, has announced on its website on Saturday that it is delaying its Paris concert and its Christmas concerts in Saitama, Japan until next year. The website cites a decision by the concert's management team for the delay. Specifically, America's Azoff Management and Filament Inc. have determined with their new partner, the concert promotion company AEG, that a newer long-term strategy will have more success and take X Japan to more cities around the world. X Japan's New Year's Eve countdown concert in Tokyo's Akasaka Blitz will go on as scheduled.

X Japan is also planning to go to more Northern European tour stops in Sweden and other locations. No mention has been made yet of an American tour stop, ever since the planned New York stop was cancelled earlier this year.

X Japan's most notable anime contributions were the songs in the X² music video collection and later X movie. The animation studio Madhouse adapted both productions from CLAMP's X manga. rt will now take place in 2009.
